If you loved Gilligan's Island, get this set! 5 out of 5 stars.

As a kid, I loved to watch reruns after school each day of Gilligan's Island. Oh how I wished I could visit with the characters and live in the huts with cool acessories made of bamboo and coconuts! I bought this set (and the other seasons) to bring back those good memories and share them with my daughter. She loves the show and we watch two episodes together at a time. The humor is a welcome relief from the sarcasm, potty-humor, and sexual content that dominates so much of television today. Today's kids still laugh at Gilligan and Skipper being stuck to the side of the Minnow, the duck that won't fly, Wrong Way Feldman, etc.
The pilot episode is a hoot to watch (I am so glad that they changed to the Professor, Mary Ann and Ginger), and the commentary by Sherwood Schwartz is a treasure trove of information.
This is a must-have for anyone who wished that they could be one of the cast-a-ways "here on Gilligan's Isle!"

A must for every person who remembers the great times in seeing this series in the 70's ! It brings back so much memories............go and buy it before it's no longer available.

My children love to watch Gillagan's Island. I enjoy listening to them laugh and inneract with the show. Good family entertainment.

if you have the first 2 seasons then I'm sure you will end up getting this one. like all this type of T.V. non-sense to sit and watch the entire DvD
in one sitting will get pretty old fast but for a occasional evening of a episode or 2 this makes for a great distraction.

I really liked the two season's in color. My grand daughter who is six really liked Gilligan's Island bringing in a younger audiance to the older shows her grandmother enjoyed as a child.

It's a cute show but my main interest is how lovely Dawn Wells looks, what a beautiful girl. A shame she never was featured in an R-rated episode with scenes of her sunning and wading in the nude.

They just don't make sit-coms like they used to. When it comes to slapstick humor, and crazy fun, Gilligan's Island is the one! There is also an inventiveness and creativity to this humor that you don't find in other comedies, making it unique and entertaining without insulting one's intelligence. The second season is in color, thank goodness.
I'm finding my kids enjoy it now just as much as I did at their age "back in the day." With hours upon hours of episodes to watch, this is worth every penny, especially for long car trips! I'd rate the humor "G," though there are a few sultry moments involving Ginger that qualify as "PG." Overall though , it is good family entertainment, without the worry of profanity strewn in.

This collection brought back so many memories. I'm glad my 1 and 3 year old daughters are able to watch some of the shows I watched as a child - especially Gilligan's Island - and without commercials! The bonus material is excellent, I especially loved watching the pilot I had heard about and had never seen. For those who loved Gilligan's Island - this is the way to go, the whole series in one package!

I ordered the complete series for my partner, who still LOVES Gilligan after all these years. The DVD's are of course crisp and clear, and the extras with Sherwood Schwartz are great!

This is a great gift or purchase for any Gilligan's Island fan. You get to see the whole show without commercials, and the funny parts haven't been deleted. It may seem like silly comedy, but if there was a category for this type of entertainment, these actors deserve awards. They are very convincing, and face it, could you imagine anyone else playing these characters? I wish TV could be this good again.

I'm going to go out on a limb, but I assume the latest DVD release is the one that has "Rescue" "From" and "Island" in blue letters and "Gilligan's" in red letters. Gilligan's head is on left and Skipper's is on right with the professer and the skipper at the bottom. The reason I'm not sure is because Amazon has the DVD release date January 1, 1978. Now I know I haven't been on a desert island, but I'm pretty sure there was no such thing as DVDs in 1978. Many versions have the opening theme and end credits removed. This may or may not be one of them. Personally I thought the basic idea of the story was very good. Giving us the chance to see the castaways attempt resume the lives they knew before the shipwreck. If you're not sure which version to buy, as I'm not sure either. I can only recommend getting 24 FILM comedy star SUPERPACK. It has the complete Rescue From Gilligan's Island with opening and ending credits along with 23 other movies. But be warned the picture is fuzzy. I hope someday an official release will happen soon.

The ending was kind of surprising, I don't think I liked it, but maybe it was good for them under the circumstances.
Basically, they didn't find the life off the island that agreeable since they were changed and since what was waiting for them was not what they dreamed about.
I think I kind of liked watching this movie. I think if was fair.
