A creative story featuring a strong little girl 5 out of 5 stars.

Maggie is an intrepid 5 year old girl with a strong mind of her own. If that's not enough to get you interested in this series, then the fact that she creates and reads maps, has a menagerie of imaginary friends, and deals with everyday issues with grace and humor should do it. The pacing, script (by originator Betty Paraskevas) and story lines are perfect for preschoolers. This is a great gift choice for young children. We know a little boy who's obsessed with Maggie and her adventures in Nowhere Land.

Having watched this series on Noggin, I purchased this DVD for my daughter. She really like the series, and there is no reason to think that this DVD is anything but perfect. Great diversity in episodes, the only thing I think is unusual is the format where there is 90 minutes of Maggie, but broken up into 4 "episodes" of 3 skits each. Not a big deal, just thought it was unusual when you go to repeat it - it is only 3 of the 12.

Wonderful for children. 5 out of 5 stars.

It took my daughter and I a couple weeks to understand what my 2 year old granddaughter continually requested. She implored us to get or turn on the roast beef show ... turns out she meant Ferocious Beast ... We have tried to collect all of them. Now the 7 year old and 2 year are arguing over which one to watch first. They love them. The beast is gentle, Maggie is cute, the stories have lessons; a good, fun time with a lovely story each time. I highly recommend especially if you have child or grandchild afraid of monsters or unseen scary things. Lilli has been terrified about monsters. Now she says they're not really scary. She knows they're like Maggie and the "roast beef" and she's not frightened anymore. : )

Our whole family loves Maggie and the Ferocious Beast. Slow paced, kind, all about the love of pretend play, which is where my 3-year old is at these days. The only problem is she doesn't want to watch anything else anymore, so looks like I have to buy some more Maggie DVD's as the repetition is getting to the older members of our family.

Maggie and her friends deal with fears and have fun dressing up. This is a fun choice for Halloween - and for kids who are afraid of monsters and things that go bump in the night.

My kids (ages 4 and 2) love Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, and love to watch this DVD over and over. I don't mind them watching it because it is educational and Maggie is very imaginative. The DVD teaches manners and how to make believe. I recommend this DVD it is light hearted, no violence, absolutely nothing in it that a child shouldn't see.

My daughter LOVES this DVD.
I think it would also be helpful for the elementary school aged child who is losing "baby teeth" and self-conscious. After all, that's the point of the Beast's "funny face"- his missing tooth!
