Bob the builder is a major hit in the United Kingdom. Very good for younger children and the girls love it as much as the boys! My children started watching this aged about 2 and were soon hooked. Very highly recommended for lovely soft plots with great themes around being kind, sharing with friends, etc. Buy it!

My almost-3-year-old son loves this movie! He would watch it all day if you let him. Some of the stories are a litte goofy but he seems to love them all.

So, there are a number of us out here in the real world who thank the lord for a few minutes to clean up the kitchen while our youngster watches Bob the Builder. Sure, he's a tool getting walked on by Wendy and the gang--but hey, he also is eternally positive and a decent role model. Besides, thetype of parent that selects Bob for their children will most likely spend time with our children far outweighs the amount of time spent in front of the tellie. You obviously don't have children

This is a pretty cute video. It's basically about Pilchard and Tommy the Tortoise so it definitely drags a little. My little one got ancy before it was over which is very unusual. We love Bob in our house but really, this one could have used a little pick-me-up in the writing department. It was a great idea, but it definitely needs expanded and reworked.
My kid is a huge fan 5 out of 5 stars.

My two-year-old absolutely adores Bob the Builder. We play together frequently with his BTB toys and vehicles, recreating scenes from the videos or inventing new situations. The videos in general are excellent, but this is my personal favorite. The stories are fairly complex for a 2-year-old but deeply engaging. ("Can We Fix It?" is also excellect.) Usually we watch it together and comment on what's happening, but it's also valuable that he's happy to watch it by himself so that I can get some quiet time to feed the baby or put her to sleep (my wife is often out in the evenings). No harm in letting your child watch some wholesome programming on his own so long as you don't let him overdo it. I guess "A Viewer from France" would have to have a child to understand this.

Well, it was exactly what I was looking for! And exactly what I expected after reading the product description. My son enjoyed watching real life construction and learning what goes on. A little bit of familiar Bob and friends thrown in makes it very kid friendly and extra fun. No, this is not a Bob the Builder episode. If a regular episode is what you are looking for, do not get the "On Site" dvd's.

My 3-1/2-year old is not a Bob the builder fan (he's a construction, fire engine and train fanatic), yet he loves this video. I think the live action helps--it shows actual roads and bridges being built. We've tried previous Bob the builder videos, but this is the only one he's asked for daily. Another plus is that the songs are not too annoying. If your child loves construction and is curious about how things are built, then this is the right DVD for you.

My 3 yr old son loves this video. He would watch Bob the Builder from time to time before this video but this video has made him a BIG Bob the Builder fan.
The video features Bob and the Gang talking about building roads and bridges and cuts to clips of real life construction. My son loves getting to see the real machines in action. The video is well done and switches from Bob to real scenes quite smoothly.
If your little builder is a fan of Bob the Builder and big equipment, he is sure to love this video. We've watched it over and over again.

Bob the Builder: Bob Saves the Day is a great addition to the library of children's dvds and videos that we have begun to collect (and slowly drown in, lol!). This is maybe four episodes' worth of Bob the Builder and his adventures during a day hard at work. The cheery contractor and his talking machines always show respect and care for each other, but then watch as they use their construction savvy to help even the little animals. They rescue birds, mice, etc. from various predicaments.
As usual, Bob and the gang manage to get the job done through teamwork, all the while showing pride in their workmanship. I think this installment --as well as the entire series --sends valuable messages to kids about the importance of hard work and cooperation. You could tell kids about these ideas until you are blue in the face but they'll identify even better with the trucks and tractors in this delightful show. You just can't miss with Bob!
And now a word to the producers: While I can appreciate that you had to change a few things for the American audience, it was not necessary to change what was obviously a family of hedgehogs into "porcupines". Kids aren't dumb - in fact, they usually learn much faster than adults. You do a disservice to them by "dumbing down" the vocabulary. But that was really a very minor quibble and I still heartily recommend Bob and friends to all parents of toddlers.

Sweet simplicity describes Bob the Builder, a hands-down winner among toddlers and preschoolers. Earnest, affable Bob and his crew of pastel-colored, animated machines solve pint-sized dilemmas with a can-do attitude. this 45-minute collection comprises four episodes, interspersed with four additional "mini-adventures." The stories depict a day in the life of the intrepid construction worker as he encounters perplexing troubles of the trade and faces each roadblock with ingenuity. In one story, a porcupine is about to be flattened by Roley the steamroller; in another, a missing tortoise looks suspiciously similar to the rocks that Scoop is moving. Before the day is over, Bob also saves a nest of mice and a baby bird, providing the subtle message that all creatures, however small and seemingly insignificant, deserve care and compassion. I gotta hand it to the folks who make these shows. First, it's stop-motion animation, which is a pain to do (believe me, I've done it). Two, you got to tell a decent story in a short amount of time without it coming off as goofy.
Well, guess what? This Bob the Builder installment nailed it and you get a few great stories out of the deal as well.
However, I do have to admit Sumsy was a little strange, her shouting random numbers and all, but other than that, this volume is an absolute blast. I loved it. My two-year-old loved it. My wife loved it.
Now I can't get that theme song out of my head.
Recommended.

My son has about 20 Christmas DVDs and this is one of our favorites!
This heartwarming story has Bob's twin brother, Tom, trying to make it home for Christmas--clear from the the Arctic Circle! Will he make it in time?
A Christmas to Remember has a heartwarming--and well crafted--plot, and features a guest appearance by Elton John!
I admit--I tear up when I see the baby videos showing Tom and Bob playing as kids...as well as Bob's disappointment when he hears that Tom missed his boat. It's a very heartwarming tale with some very funny moments!
Of course, Wendy, Spud, and the rest of the can-do crew make appearances in this story--as do "Lennie and the Lazers"!
At around 50 minutes, this engaging DVD will delight fans of Bob the Builder, as well as small children. And, it's a DVD that a parent can sit through comfortably without being bored to death or driven insane by mindless drivel or grating singing--which is a great plus!

My two year old and four year old have had this movie for a week now and have watched it a dozen times already. They love the new characters, Splasher and Bristle. These are brand new episodes, never before seen on TV.

Kids (ages 3 & 5) enjoyed this the first time, but didn't have a lot of interest in watching it again and again. If your child is obsessed with Bob the Builder, then they will love this movie. Otherwise, it's very similar to a lot of the Bob the Builders that were made prior.
