Awesomeness! 5 out of 5 stars.

The 4th season of the hills is just as good, and drama filled as the past three. In this season, Audrina moves out, spencer marries heidi, whitney moves to new york, and much much more. Overall this is a great buy! I suggest you wait and order through Mtv though. They give better deals. When i ordered my season 3 dvd i got it a week before it came in stores, and i got a bonus disc that has "Lauren Looks Back" on it! I saw commercials on Mtv for this set, and i'm pretty sure it said f you ordered from them you get the dvd 3 WEEKS BEFORE IT HITS SHELVES!! i'm not exactly sure about that, but im 90% sure. This season is a must have for fans! Oh, and make sure to watch The City!!

Go here to get a better deal!- http://www.seenonmtv.com/index.php?v=mtvhil&pa=mtv:thehills:season4dvd:300x100mtv

Jackass: The Movie

Jackass: The Movie is made up of all the dumb, mindless pranks you'd expect of a college fraternity without any adult supervision.

The movie including the DVD is not without merit, however. If you have an annoying neighbor with teenage boys this might make an ideal Christmas present. You'd want to give it anonymously, of course.

Sure there are warnings throughout the movie DO NOT DO THIS AT HOME. You and I both know that a teenage boy is going to ignore those and try them anyway. That's where the anonymity comes in handy, Nobody can sue you.

Highly recommended for people with annoying teenage boys as neighbors and for any teenage boy you just don't like very much.

Too sweeeeeet soup story 5 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

Time runs fast, and changes in society are event faster as a story of four friends from non-white American background, their relations, interactions and sexual preferences became a multi-segment-continuing hit in the USA and internationally.

Inclusion of rehearsals and interviews allows suggestion that actors were change through this work to some extent personally, visually.

Although Boy Cultureand Dante's Cove - Season 3, for instance, depict more broad variety of Americans screened -and iconic Queer as Folk - The Complete Seriesdoes surely,- this sometimes too sweeeeeet soup story is a funny family viewing, nice music surrounded with, reflecting a realistic reality of race-influence not in the modern US only.

Perhaps, in this case for sure, "Same Gender Affairs" is a more suitable labeling than a "Gay Movies" used recently if classifying films on gender issues at all, as even much more porno-explicit pictures target and find a broad auditorium worldwide.

Let's see further news of the friends.

Incendiary, madcap genius 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

On the surface, Wonder Showzen seems like a cutely subversive idea: take the format of a children's show such as Sesame Street or Teletubbies and mutate it into an ultra-warped work of black comedy. But the truth is that Wonder Showzen is something much more. Even as shows like The Sopranos and Lost push the envelope for quality and craft in television, the airwaves are still awash in tired, formulaic garbage that treats viewers like infants. Wonder Showzen is a corrective: an insanely surreal, wickedly inspired and vicious piece of programming that recreates comedy in its own freakish image.

Every element of Wonder Showzen arrives perfectly formed; it's hard to even think of where to begin talking about it. From dizzyingly surreal animation to re-conceptualized documentary to dirty puppet show, it's an absurdist collage of supercharged proportions. Perhaps most notable of all is "Beat Kids", the fake kid's news segment that could be a spin-off show of its own. While shows like The Office fictionalize their social awkwardness (with admittedly uproarious results), Wonder Showzen takes to the street and creates scenes that are sometimes so immensely uncomfortable they're difficult to watch.

Underneath it all is a spark of sometimes-camouflaged, sometimes-overt political fury, usually manifested as a byproduct of the show's refusal to spare "serious" topics from being run through its Dadaist meat grinder. Sometimes, the bits drift so far into an almost nihilistic weirdness that it seems as if the creators felt compelled to throw in some semblance of humanity, but it never feels phony or sanctimonious. You get the sense that, deep down, Wonder Showzen is actually a great work of social concern, like a social studies class team-taught by Upton Sinclair and Robert Crumb.

Another element of the show which cries out for recognition is the quality of its music: putting even shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy to shame, each season of Wonder Showzen contains dozens of songs of an almost uniformly stellar quality. The most memorable of the bunch - like a shockingly anthemic new wave pastiche about slavery - will stick in your head like the best bubblegum tunes. It's good enough that I'd buy a complete soundtrack without hesitation, just so I could listen to Letter N's lament in my car.

In short, Wonder Showzen is essential viewing if, like me, you're optimistic about the potential of television but continually disappointed in the lived reality. It's such a singular, inspired creation that it transcends its medium, becoming not just a great TV show, but simply great.

At this rate, I'll be homeschooling my kids 3 out of 5 stars.
0 of 0 people found this review helpful.

I really didn't know anything about Daria before watching this. I knew OF her, I knew she existed in the same universe as Beavis & Butthead - and now I know also the same universe as King Of The Hill. I haven't watched the former, and I've seen random episodes of the latter.

Along with Welcome To The Dollhouse, Daria falls into the "makes-me-want-to-slit-my-wrists" category. I was thoroughly depressed after watching Welcome To The Dollhouse, and was slightly less depressed after watching Daria. All the school stuff freaks me out a bit. I try to cover it up, but it really upsets me, and it's not good. Then I started seeing myself in Daria, as most people probably will. There's something about Daria that makes her similar to most people, or most people can identify with some aspect of her personality.

High school affects different people in different ways. For me, it wasn't a good period of my life. I'm still haunted by it, despite being out of school for a few years now. And the night after watching this, I came across a high school photo that I hadn't ripped up yet. (That bad? Yeah.) It's now well hidden. Unlike Daria, I didn't have a ultra cool best friend, I wasn't that sarcastic, or deadpan, and I didn't have a sister. Boo.

Daria, with its cast of unknown voices (they'd all be well known if it was remade), and kooky characters, is totally different from everything else I'd ever seen. In a good way, it was a overlong TV episode, but didn't feel cut into three different episodes, unlike some TV shows-turned-movies, and the time simply flew by watching it. In a bad way, it will remind people of people from high school, or stuff in general from that period of your lives. For me, it turned out to be one of the most depressing things I've watched, but I did find myself enjoying it tremendously, and even smiling at some points.

I don't think it would be a TV show I could ever get into (possibly?), but if you see it for cheap, I would definitely pick it up. It's well worth a watch, just be careful if you didn't get on too well at school.

Vastly Superior To Volume 1 5 out of 5 stars.
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I remember the 90s very well. First analyzing movies, getting into music videos, growing up into the conservative person I am today. One of my fondest memories was hearing a pastor preach why "Beavis and His Friend" were horrible role models because "they burned things".

But that was never the reason that Mike Judge's unbelievable idiotic creations were funny. Sure, the two losers can be hysterical in their clueless quests for money, fame, and sex --- which neither know what to do once they get any of those opportunities. But this show was funnier because of the adults' reactions to Beavis and Butthead's moronic behavior. Mike Judge's satire wasn't only about the youth culture, but also how blind older generations were to their own beliefs. These two losers are like Jay and Silent Bob - they're only as humorous as the world around them.

Revisiting this show has been interesting. I thought VOLUME ONE was solid at best, but for different reasons than most. I never missed the music videos intermissions (in which Beavis and Butthead did MST3K-style commentary) or the "deleted footage" (which was supposedly just a few lines per episode). I would give VOLUME ONE 4 stars because it's funny, but not great. VOLUME TWO, on the other hand, is side-splitting from start to finish.

There's no real secret to why VOLUME TWO is much better than the first collection of episodes. The video and audio quality are cleaner; I've read that's because most of these episodes are from the later seasons. There are gags and jokes that play off some of VOLUME ONE's episodes, and each of the "sequels" that I remember were even better than their predecessors. We get Part 2 of the "Taint of Greatness" documentary; this DVD marketting strategy doesn't bother me, because each part is detailed and interesting. The Extras include more music videos and a few other goodies. But the obvious reason why VOLUME TWO is better is just because the episodes are much funnier. The writing, voice-acting, time length, and finishes are simply excellent. Each episode starts strong, keeps momentum, and has a good payoff.

Expecting this show to be released in the original season format complete with music videos is hoping George Lucas will give the original cuts of the STAR WARS trilogy a deluxe treatment. It Just Won't Happen! In the case of BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD, there are too many licensing issues regarding the videos, plus Judge reportedly thinks some of the episodes are terrible.

It's not as if BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD has any running storyline or continuity to the characters. Other than the occasional reappearance of a character or running gag, you could watch these episodes in any order. A bad episode would always be a bad episode, and vice versa.

I usually suggest you buy a TV DVD starting with the 1st Season, but with this show, you can make an exception. This is the rare show where you don't have to be a completist to enjoy it. VOLUME TWO of the Mike Judge's BEAVIS AND BUTTHEAD Collection is hilarious! If you want to revisit these characters but wanna avoid the roadblocks, you can pick up VOLUME TWO with no regrets. If you love it, then maybe purchase the other two volumes for the "Taint of Greatness" documentary...or the music videos...

Woot! 4 out of 5 stars.
2 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I knocked off 1 star because 3 of the episodes I wanted commentary on didn't have it. Even though it was targeted at adult males, I watched this as a little girl. It was on TV not only at the peak of MTVs coolness, but the peak of TVs coolness in general; the early & mid 90s.
..........................................................................
It had all the episodes, commentary, & even all the Liquid Television episodes; exactly what I wanted ^__^

What the crap? 1 out of 5 stars.
2 of 8 people found this review helpful.

Okay, this series is my first exposure to Aeon Flux. Maybe you have to have seen the movie or something else for it to make sense, but I think that even then I would find the storytelling to be disjointed and confusing. There are bizarre jump cuts that leave one wondering how the hell the characters got where they are and what the blazes they're talking about.
One second Trevor is chasing Aeon down the street, the next she's inside the body of the fat guy.
How did she get there?
I feel like I'm seeing a very badly edited version of the story. Too boot, from the first second of the first episode I felt like I was jumping into the middle of a story. I even stopped it to make sure I had started with the correct episode. But again, maybe there's something in the movie that explains what's going on.
This is total crap and I feel robbed. [...].

Editorial Review:

MTV's reality series about the joys and challenges of juggling a relationship with rising celebrity kicks into a higher gear in seasons 2 and 3 now that Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey have a year of marriage under their belts. With both of them--separately and together--in heavy demand in Atlantic City, at photo shoots, surf meets, parades, football games, movie auditions, television and radio shows, and more, the couple have a hard time finding energy to be together. In the 20 episodes included in the Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica: The Complete Second and Third Seasons boxed set, there are several instances in which the pair go to some lengths to find private time: attending the Kentucky Derby, traveling to be with family over Christmas holidays, and taking a skiing trip that doesn't work out so well for poor Nick.

Meanwhile, Nick and Jessica have to contend with aggressive paparazzi and fans, exhausting hours under hot lights, Jessica's pushy father-manager, and interpersonal conflicts when Jessica's best friend (and personal assistant) moves in with the couple. Compensating for all those trying times, however, is the duo's obvious devotion to one another, made clear through several elaborate, celebratory gestures each makes toward the other. Even if one doesn't find either Nick or Jessica to be particularly stimulating company, or find the process of turning somewhat talented people into larger-than-life celebrities to be interesting, the fly-on-the-wall documentary approach of Newlyweds quickly becomes irresistible to the voyeur in everyone. --Tom Keogh

3 of 21 people found this review helpful.

Jackass was a great show, and if you haven't seen it - buy it now! Viva La Bam is simply lame in comparison. It's not funny at all, and neither is Bam. He is supposedly a pro skater, but does nothing that any average kid can do on a skateboard.

It's almost sad when he & his drop out Jackass crew are trying to make stupid jokes look funny, & laugh hysterically - it doesn't work. There is large part of an episode where they cover their house with lights (4 trucks worth), for Christmas. Nothing funny about that. Majority of all skits consist of his parents as victims. Don't know how they put up with it (guess money goes a long way).

Do not buy this, specially if you've seen Jackass, as it'll make it seem even worse.

Season 2: Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger 5 out of 5 stars.
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

If you watched 3 minutes of any one show you might think this is the worst show on TV. It takes a little longer to appreciate the complexity of the underlying ideas the show brings.

The creators are smart, the kids are fantastic (gotta love Trevor and Beat Kids), and the subjects are relevant. I think they must have been shocked when they were green lit for a second season. They played this one like they knew there was no way they would be asked for a third.

Tackling issues like our constitution and the subversion of it, education, gun control, war, freedom of speech, slavery, racism, the meat market, TV and the common American idiot. They present these ideas for the MTV generation. A person can easily understand (and laugh), but are left with the overall message the story's portray, obviously or subconsciously.

They make you laugh, they make you sick (even the cartoons), they get you talking and they make you think.
